GET YOUR SKATES ON!

Blades, brilliance and balletic performance were evident in the evening activity!!
From beginner to the highly experienced, thrills and spills were undoubtedly on display.

The majority of the party had a cracking time on ice. Even the moon walk made an appearance (see the video!)

Some of our most outstanding students have been given awards tonight- well done to those students, excellent effort!

UPDATE

Day 3 of skiing has once again seen some excellent progression and top quality conditions! Despite some aching muscles, to be expected, the students have all demonstrated a really admirable attitude and enthusiasm to skiing - amazing!!

Tonight as it’s New Year’s Eve, we were all treated to a spectacular torchlit descent and cracking fireworks at the resort centre. All the ESF (French ski school) instructors took part in the skiing demonstration- wearing LED lit suits or holding  burning torches while skiing down the ski slope!! (Not to worry- we were stood well back!!) It was quite the display with our very own instructors taking part!

Afterwards the students enjoyed a scrumptious spaghetti bolognese with homemade garlic bread followed by a waffle dessert. We’re currently in the middle of our fiercely competitive games night in advance of the new year.

THE LAST FULL DAY!!  The students received their skiing awards for the week on the last full day in resort. Everyone received their French Ski School achievement booklets and stamp to show their progress. They’ll be able to bring those booklets on any future trips to build on their ability- great to see how much progress has been made in a week!  Tonight we once again awarded students with awards for positivity, progress and can-do attitude. Our coveted ‘Marmie Award, where a chosen student looks after the one and only ”Marmie” received some siblings - see pictures!  Our end of trip disco has gone down a storm. Dance offs, singing, musical statues - we have seen the night off in style. A great day had by all!!  Some more pictures from our music quiz last night:  Awards tonight:  Skiing today;

SATURDAY 28TH DECMBER - WE'VE ARRIVED!

As a bit of a starter to the blog...the journey is progressing well. We stopped for breakfast at the planned stop of Macon and are now slightly ahead of time. We are starting to see the distant, snow-peaked mountains on the horizon and will soon start our ascent with an ETA of 12.30pm in resort.

WEDNESDAY 1ST JANUARY - HAPPY NEW YEAR

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! We have had an absolutely cracking day! Weather conditions were once again perfect with sunny blue skies and beautifully groomed pistes. The instructors today praised the students with their attitude, willingness to learn and quick progression! We also took the opportunity to capture some professional action shots of each student skiing- we’ve seen the results already and there are some awesome photos! After some yummy Hunter’s chicken and scrummy chocolate mousse, the students sat down to compete in our much anticipated and revered music quiz. The stakes were high (pride) and competition fierce (even the hotel put forward a team!) The rounds included clips of music from films and TV shows, speed rounds, ‘the classics’ as well as a rock ‘n’ roll guitar round. By the end we had all students on their feet, singing along to ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ by Journey and Queen’s ‘We Will Rock You’. What a night!!
